Week 1 Exploration: Mapping the Modern Web Design Process

Why Hello there my Fierce Readers,
Im here today with another analysis post, this time I will be analyzing the Lynda.com video Mapping the Modern Web Design Process with Morten Rand-Hendriksen . This video teaches the fundamental of being a web designer and going through the design process. This time around my analysis will be a little different I will be answering a few question about the video for my Web Design Class at Full Sail University.. So with that being said lets dig into the rest of this post.
1.) How do you envision working with the web in your chosen career?
In my chosen career I would be working as an entrepreneur running my own business digitally. So I would be working with web design a lot and will really need these skills. I will be needing to create my own web site, and be able to problem solve issue that will develop. I will have to also be able to update my own website, and communicate with clients and potential clients through this site. So I will have to be able to create it to hight professional standards.
2.) Identify 3 points of interest from the lesson - What would you like to know more about?
The three point that stood out to me the most from the video that I would like to know more about were first the soft and hard launch. This really stood out to me because it was like having a launch part with press release. I like to know more about how effective a soft launch could be because it is something I am considering for my own start up business. The second thing that stood out was Optimizing SEO. I would like to know more because it is something that is very important and beneficial when running a digital company. Lastly I would l was very interested int the card sorting. I just thought it was an amazing idea plus concept and something that I would be more interested in learning about as well as using.
3.)How will you approach your fictitious web project differently as a result of this lesson - Why?
I will approach it in a more organized a confident manner, Before I watched this video I really didn't know were to start. But now I feel I know the steps to take to create a successful site that will meet my clients need. I would have had to do lots of research to figure out how to do it but the video held all the answers to my questions.
4.)What questions would you like to be able to ask your fictitious client?
I would like to be to ask my fictitious client what he envisions for this site. The color schemes he is interested in. What type of imagery and message he would like to convey. As well as if he like the design to be complex or if he is into more clean and simple. Lastly I would like to know the demographic he is trying to reach. I just want the client to get what he envisions and fill most comfortable with while I give advice and listen to all of his request.
