Week 4 Reflection: RISE Peer Feedback
Hello there my Fierce readers,
Im here today with a week 4 post for my New Media Tools class. This week I’m going to be doing a peer review using the RISE Peer Review Model. I have the pleasure of reviewing one of Rebecca Aragon’s blog post on her blog Let's Sail Through Full Sail. Check out her week 2 project blog post and watch the video above before reading today’s post.
Now that you have reviewed the post and watch the video above let jump right in…
Reflect :
I relate to your digital story because I too went to college and graduated as well for something that I felt wasn't a perfect fit for me. I was confused as well after I graduate with my degree and didn't know what my next step was only that I wanted to go back to school. It made me want to revisit my own story to and add better music that changes as well as some more personal pictures of my self. It also showed me that I could convey a lot in a small amount of time and makes me want to shorten my video.
Inquire:
What were you trying to communicate by using the dynamic music changes? Why did you use mostly word pictures? Why didn't you use more pictures? Did you mean to make your transition so quick?
Suggest:
Have you considered recording your voice over on Sound cloud or Grageband and importing it into iMovie? Have you considered using pictures without words and changing the to a color splash photo? This would bring out only one color in the picture while keeping the rest of the picture black and white. This will bring attention to one object in the photo it just brings some eye candy to your video. You might want to slow down your transitions so the words can be read in enough time. As well as add more detail to your video even if you keep the word slides incorporate a voice over and some pictures without words. Details like when you say the word search show a magnifying glass or something like that for an example.
Elevate:
Perhaps you can expand your digital story by adding some more pictures of yourself just to add a personal touch. Perhaps you can also expand on how the events in your life, like the medical field still had media communications aspects. You could repurpose this aspect so you can still relate all your experiences to media communication. To show how theses experiences pushed you to your new degree and life choice without you even probably realizing that what you were doing in the medical field relates to your media communications felid now.
I really enjoyed reviewing Rebecca Aragon’s blog post on her blog Let's Sail Through Full Sail. keep you eyes ready for the next post. Until next time my Fierce readers!
Yours Truly,
Jazzi
